A collection of books that represent all children/kids/tweens/teens/young adults, the search for them...they are far and few between and the numbers are only getting more grim.

Yesterday, after reading about this movie HERE that is seeking funding to be made, I found the research and studies of psychologists Kenneth and Mamie Clark which basically asked children to identify characteristics with black and white dolls - finding that the children typically chose the black dolls to have negative characteristics, and the white dolls to have positive ones. The study has been done many times over and over, here done by MSNBC, with the same results!
If you can imagine that just for one minute how all minority children in the US or other places may be feeling like this at the moment, wouldn’t you want to do something about it? The deeper I get into this blog, the more information I will be posting on how connected self worth and seeing yourself represented in books as a child are connected.
